We are looking for Java Licensing Expert
Job scope:
Java Licensing Expert responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work together with the PM of the project
- Analyze the Oracle Java Licensing and subscription Guidelines (2023- Employee based licensing) thoroughly.
- Sort out documentation for various cases covered in the Oracle java licensing plan from the financial /utilization front.
- Assess the internal usage and provide comparison matrix on Contract & Deployment
- Risk analysis and Detect Java compliance issues.
- Generate an asset Repository (Apps, Endpoint, Servers) based on the assessment.
- Aid the process of global strategy and roadmap creation to manage java with impact analysis.
- Java containment and optimization plan
- Evaluate the java alternatives and guide the Migration process.
- Support various teams on their queries and blockers.
- Track the Migration along with PM.
- Support negotiation with Oracle/Software vendors
- Contribute to the development of methods, processes, and controls, and be an advocate in their application.
Profile:
Must have
- 15-20 years of experience in Software Licensing
- Strong familiarity of Java majorly Oracle Java
- Proficient understanding of Java Alternatives -Open JDK, MS Build of Open JDK, Amazon Corretto etc., and their compatibilities.
- Knowledge on Java licensing guidelines
- Significant experience working with Java based applications on Various Platforms
- Exposure to Application Design/Development and software deployments
- Familiarity with IT processes and infrastructure-Endpoint, Servers, OS
- Experience on software migration projects across the IT domain, Involvement in Large scale projects would be a plus.
- Able to work with diverse mix of people from different regions at different time zones.
- Well organized and able to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Highly resilient, adaptable, and able to deal effectively with ambiguity/changing priorities.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced change environment.
- Excellent team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results.
Nice to have:
- Experience in working in Oil & gas companies
Minimum education level:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication or scientific related field
